1. Go for a walk
Seriously. Science even says exercise releases hormones that make you happy. Plus who knows what you'll see?
2. Take a bath
Bubbles, Salts, Bombs, Candles. Breathe deep and relax.
3. Paint your nails
One of the smallest things but if you paint your toes and your fingers I guarantee you'll feel better than you did before. If you don't want to do them yourself, go get them done!
4. Put on red lipstick
May I suggest Cherry Cheesecake or Red Velvie? Seriously. Slap on some lipstick and work it. You'll feel good.
5. Be kind to yourself
You're doing the best you can. Speak to yourself the way you would a friend or family member. Don't be hard on yourself.
6. Do your best to forget about those who have forgotten about you
I can say wholeheartedly this is probably one of the most easier said than done things on this list. It's difficult especially when you are kind and compassionate. But what's the point in dragging all of that negative energy around wasting it on someone who has forgotten about you? Let it go. By doing so you open yourself up for new friendships and relationships, new opportunities and positivity.
7. Call your best friend
Who calls anymore? When is the last time you called your best friend? All we do is text. pick up the phone! Make plans. You'll both feel better.
8. Be yourself
The most genuine version of perfect you. Those who don't like it don't belong in your life anyway. Embrace who you are.
9. Go outside
Can we say Vitamin D?! Go let your skin soak up those rays, even just for a few minutes. If you stay out longer, don't forget the SPF!
10. Choose Happiness
SMILE! Be happy with who you are. Be happy because you choose to be. Let your positivity radiate. Who knows who you'll inspire!
11. Make a list of all of your best qualities
Are you selfless? Loving? Giving? Helpful? Honest? Can you cook? Even the smallest things. Post the list on your mirror.
But don't forget. Forgive those who have hurt you, but never forget the lessons it has taught you.
13. Take inventory of the "little things"
Quiet moments, smiles from strangers, the cold spot in bed, the wind on your skin, the warmth of the sunshine. They are beautiful.
14. Tell someone you love them
Friend, family, crush, life is truly too short not to.
15. Go to bed early tonight
Sleep is good. Need I say more? Sleep is good for your mind, body, and soul.
Have a ten minute dance party. Even if you're alone. Throw on your favorite song and get movin'!
17. Go shopping
You don't have to spend a ton of money for a little retail therapy. Buy a new lipstick
18. Help someone else
Donate your time at a soup kitchen, your old clothes to a shelter, canned goods to a food pantry, they always need it and it will make you feel good to help someone else.
Think of the funniest person you know and call them. Watch cat videos on YouTube, your favorite comedians stand-up, whatever gets you giggling.
20. Love yourself.
This is the most important one. I can NOT stress this enough. There is only one you. There is nobody else like you on this planet. You are perfectly wonderful you, and nobody can change that or take it away from you. Own it. It is so beyond important to wake up everyday and know your worth, to know you deserve the best. xoxo
