Gabby Douglas and Beauty Bakerie Strike Lip Whip Gold!

Sweet new beginnings are coming for Olympic gold medalist, Gabby Douglas and us here at Beauty Bakerie as we embark on a collaboration so seamless and perfect that we cannot wait to share with all of you!

Late last year as we began looking for who our next ambassador would be, we all knew we wanted 3 things:

 A person with a strong and confident personality that inspired others to be the best versions of themselves.

 Someone who throughout their life has embodied the Beauty Bakerie, Better not Bitter, motto.

 And lastly, someone who knew beauty is not only achieved through beautiful makeup and fashion but from the sweetness of one’s heart as well.

When we found out Gabby was looking to create a beautiful line of lipsticks with a brand that carried the best liquid lipsticks (Ahem… did someone say Lip Whips?), we knew we’d struck gold! Gabby is a strong woman whose values, dedication, and poise has inspired so many of us to be and give the best version of ourselves in every situation. Her story epitomizes our better, not bitter, motto as difficulty and hardship has only made Gabby stronger while staying true to her sweet and lovable personality. Her gorgeous Lip Whip set was inspired with all these traits in mind along with Gabby’s knack for all things creative of course! 

Working with Gabby has been nothing but a sweet ride so we thought we’d do a little Q&A to get her side of this collab and an inside scoop on a few of her favorite things!

1. What does this partnership with Beauty Bakerie mean to you?

I am so excited about this partnership with Beauty Bakerie! I have always wanted to have a lipstick line, and I'm honored to be able to partner with a brand that has an amazing product.

2. Which Beauty Bakerie Lip Whip color makes you feel like you can conquer the world?

Okay, this is a hard one. I have a few! But right now, I think my number one color is Raspberry Tiramisu. The color is vibrant and looks so good on many different complexions.

3. What has been your favorite part of working with Beauty Bakerie?

My favorite part of working with Beauty Bakerie is working on the special colors for my kit. I have also enjoyed sampling all of the awesome makeup!

4. Who’s one of your favorite beauty idols?

Ouuuuu. I would have to say, my two sisters - Arielle and Joyelle. Can I count them as one? LOL!

5. What’s your favorite GELato flavor and on what occasions do you like wearing it?

I actually like Black Milk because I can wear it every day!

6. Could you share with us your favorite makeup tip/trick?

My favorite tip is to be sure to use a good lip moisturizer before bed. It really helps your lipstick go on smooth and create a beautiful finish.

7. In your honest opinion, what tastes sweeter: Landing the jump or BB’s Sugar Lip Scrub?

Well, strong landings are pretty sweet, but BB’s Sugar Lip Scrub is right up there with them! (We agree Gabby, we agree)

8. What advice would you give girls out there trying to follow their dreams?

I would definitely tell them to never let anyone keep them from following their goals and to never quit or give up no matter what obstacles they have to overcome.

9. How does Beauty Bakerie’s motto better, not bitter, resonate with your life and experiences?

Being Better not Bitter is very similar to my personal motto, Hard days are the best because that's when champions are made.

It's easy to allow negativity or hard circumstances keep you from chasing your dreams. However, it is very important that you maintain a positive outlook and surround yourself with others who share the same mindset. I have definitely had to endure situations that could have made me bitter. But, I decided to focus on being better instead!

10. Tell us your favorite way of sweetening someone’s life.

My favorite way of adding sweetness to someone's life is by making them laugh. I love when I can help put a smile on someone's face! Now, I can also add some extra sweetness with my new Lip Whip Kit too!
